Beauty queen's galactic hopes

February 01, 2010

A Holt School beauty queen has her fingers crossed for success at a pageant in March.

Clodagh Pickavance, 18, of Emmbrook, is the 2010 Miss Teen Berkshire.

The sixth-former will now go forward to the national finals where she hopes to be crowned Miss Teen Galaxy UK.

She said: “Last year I competed in the Miss Teen Galaxy and was the runner-up.

“I won ‘best smile’ and Miss Teen Fashion 2009 and was so proud to have represented my area.”

Two years ago, she also finished in the Top 20 for Miss London, one of 200 entrants.

She said: “You have different rounds like swimwear, fashion and evening wear.

“You also get asked questions at random.”

The national pageant takes place at a hotel in Cheshire in March.

Clodagh, who is doing A-levels in classical civilisation, English literature and philosophy, is hoping to study broadcast journalism at university, either at Leeds or Bournemouth.

She said: “I don’t get too nervous about doing pageants because I’ve done quite a few now. I’m looking forward to it.”
