Teenager bottled and robbed in Woodley

By Alice Murphy
November 29, 2009

Thugs bottled and robbed a teenager as he was walking home in Woodley on Friday night.

The 17-year-old victim was at the junction of Loddon Bridge Road and Colemansmoor Road be-tween 10.30pm and 11.45pm.

Two men on bikes hit him over the head and knocked him out, stealing his mobile phone.

He remains in hospital and has had an operation for his injuries, which are not life threatening.

One of the men was mixed race, 5ft 6ins tall about 18, wearing a black beanie and blue jeans.

Det Sgt Richard Woodley from Thames Valley Police said: “This was a particularly vicious attack and unusual for a robbery.

“People who are prepared to attack someone with a bottle for the sake of stealing a mobile phone need to be caught as soon as possible. I would ask anyone who witnessed the attack to contact the police.”
