Comment on taxi rank plan

Townspeople are being invited to comment on plans for a new taxi rank in Elms Road.
Wokingham Borough Council has proposed introducing waiting restrictions in the town centre street to create a formal taxi rank.
The plan is in response to reports of late-night revellers leaving bars such as The Gig House and The Buzz in The Plaza and congregating in the area while waiting for taxis.
It is thought such gatherings can put them at risk, cause noise and prompt neighbours to complain.
There would be two spaces for taxis to line up on the road, with additional cabs waiting in the Paddocks car park.
Comments need to be submitted by Friday, October 16.
