Winnersh flood victim demands action

July 29, 2009

A Winnersh resident will demand action over a flood-prone river outside his home at a meeting today.

Graham Hyde, of Sylvester Close, will ask Wokingham Borough Council’s executive committee to provide a solution to the flood threat the Emm Brook poses to homes.

Grant will protect Winnersh homes from flooding

The road was severely affected by the July 2007 floods, with some homes requiring more than a year of work before people could move back in.

The executive councillors will also be asked to debate the draft Flood and Water Management Bill and its implications for Wokingham at the meeting at Shute End.
