Uri Geller remembers Michael Jackson

June 26, 2009

Sonning spoonbender Uri Geller expressed shock and devastation at the death of Michael Jackson today.

He recalled the day in 2001 when Jackson was best man at the renewal of his wedding vows at his home in Thames Street.

He said: “He was my best man at my wedding at my home in Sonning. My memories of that are very funny because he was late. He was notorious for always being late and he had the ring in his pocket so we could not start the ceremony until he arrived.”

“When he was there he was very charismatic and amazing.”

But their relationship was not always good because Mr Geller was responsible for introducing Michael Jackson to Martin Bashir who conducted an interview with Jackson which damaged his reputation.

Mr Geller said: “I will always feel guilty about that.”

Geller contributed to Michael's undeserved downfall, and sparked the frenzy of false accusation and conspiracy that hurt him, unimaginably. He was never the same after the trials of 2005.

What kind of friend would ever introduce Michael to Martin Bashir, after what he did to Lady Diana? Quite beyond me.

Michael - you were above all of the hate that so many relentless individuals showed you. May you finally rest in peace, where you are free from the burdens that faced you in life.

God bless you, MJ.

MJ's death is indeed tragic but there's no need for Uri to get all bent out of shape over it! :) RIP
