At least five homes damaged in suspected arson

March 31, 2009

Several homes backing on to an alleyway in Earley have been damaged in a suspected arson attack.

Detectives believe a fire in the alleyway at the back of houses in Chilcombe Way last week was started deliberately.

The fire, which happened shortly after 5pm, quickly spread to a perimeter fence and caused damage to at least five homes.

PC Ryan Flindall, of Loddon Valley police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have information about this, or knows who started the fire.

“I would encourage anyone to report any kind of anti-social behaviour to police as soon as possible, before it gets out of hand.”

Anyone with information can call PC Flindall on 08458 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
