Mourners pay tribute to councillor Mike Beech

Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of Wokingham Town councillor Mike Beech this morning.
The 62-year-old, who represented Evendons West ward at the town council and was a well-known taxi driver, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24.
Droves of mourners braved the appalling conditions on the roads to take part in the ceremony at Easthampstead Park Crematorium.
Cllr Beech, who leaves a wife, Sandra, and two sons, David and Mark, was given a civic funeral with the town mayor cllr Brian Willis attending in full mayoral garb.
The council macebearer will also in attendance and town councillors formed a guard of honour.
This morning's funeral was followed by a reception at the town hall in Market Place.
- There will be a silence in cllr Beech's honour at the next council meeting.
