New date for 600-home plan
January 30, 2009
Plans for a mini-town in Winnersh could be submitted by the spring.
Developer Bovis Homes has already stated on five separate occasions the application for hundreds of homes at Hatch Farm Dairies in King Street Lane will be received by Wokingham Borough Council, but they have failed to materialise.
Winnersh councillor Prue Bray says she has also been told the plan is “weeks away” on a number of occasions over the past two years.
Cllr Bray is sceptical the plans will ever appear and her previous comments suggesting so prompted a strongly worded letter to The Wokingham Times from the developer in June, which said it was working with the council on an environmental plan.
Then in October, the company confirmed it was hoping to submit the application in time to be considered in January.
