Mixture of complaints and compliments for council

November 10, 2008

More than 300 complaints have been made about council services in the last year with 21 investigations, but none has been upheld.

Wokingham Borough Council has received 306 complaints since last year about its corporate services, children’s services and social care departments.

Of the complaints, 245 were about corporate services, with a large percentage received in July about flooding.

There were 21 complaints investigated by the Local Government Ombudsman, an independent body which deals with complaints about local authorities.

However, none of the complaints has been upheld so far.

There were also 16 complaints about the children’s services department, three of which were taken to the ombudsman and none was upheld.

Of the 45 complaints about the borough’s community care department one was reported to the ombudsman, but this was not upheld.

The council also received 401 compliments over the period from its service users.

Why am I not surprised that none of the complaints were upheld by the ""Independent"" Ombudsman. They are totally biased! See these websites and you will understand why none of the complaints were upheld:
