Friends have paid tribute to a popular young music lover who died following an incident with a taxi on his way home from a night out.

Josh Harley, 19, from Lower Earley, whom his mates have dubbed “a legend”, is believed to have been out with friends at Dogma bar, in Castle Street, Reading, on Saturday, September 20, when he took a silver Hackney Carriage home.

He suffered serious head injuries after the incident on Chatteris Way, Lower Earley, at around 2.10am. The circumstances of the accident remain unclear and police are still appealing for witnesses.

Friends and family members had been keeping vigil during the week as Josh, who worked for Thames Valley Primary Care Agency in Cremyll Road, battled for his life.

But he died from the injuries at around 3.10pm on Thursday at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with his parents and younger brother by his side.

Many of Josh’s close-knit group of friends and colleagues laid flowers at the scene of the crash over the weekend.
