Wokingham’s town centre manager will be staying put for the time being, The Wokingham Times can reveal.

Brian Newman was shortlisted for the position of Woodley town centre manager, however bosses have decided to appoint Jacques Lherbier, who has lived in Woodley for more than 13 years.

Mr Newman has worked as Wokingham town centre manager since 2006.

Mr Lherbier will start in the position on Monday.
