Veteran Bill leaves hospital

The last surviving veteran to serve with the Royal Navy for both world wars has returned to his Sindlesham care home after spending two weeks in hospital.

The family of William Stone, known to friends as Bill, are planning the celebrations for his 108th birthday on Tuesday next week.

Mr Stone was treated for an infection at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading for two weeks but was released from hospital yesterday.
