Shoppers do not even have to leave their homes in their bid to help keep trade local in Wokingham.

A new website, www.shopwokingham.com, is a directory with all the contact details of shops in the town.

Businesses, service providers and town centre retailers will be able to add their details, as well as having contact forms.

Customers can check all the contact details of whichever service they like to help them decide where to buy.

Tourist attractions can also be promoted on the site, with photographs and further information.

Town centre manager Brian Newman said: “I am delighted to be able to say that our

experiment creating this website has been a success and that we are now ready to offer a complete, fully interactive service for local companies.

“It will also be a really useful tool for shoppers.”

The website is free to all businesses in Wokingham, and businesses and tourist attractions should send their details to tcm@
