Tesco in plan to expand store

18/ 7/2008

A supermarket could be expanding its store and car park if plans to develop the store go ahead.

Tesco wants to extend its Finchampstead Road store by 471 square metres and increase the car park by 75 spaces.

It also wants to add another pond to the south of the land to drain excess water, because the car park is regularly waterlogged in parts.

The store would then measure 6,218 square metres. Wokingham Borough Council and Tesco jointly own the site.

The consultation began on Friday, July 4, and the deadline for comments is Friday, August 8.

To see the plans, go to the planning permission and applications sections of Wokingham Borough Council’s website – www.wokingham.gov.uk.

The planning application number is F/2008/1442.
