Tributes to motor business owner who ‘never retired’

July 10, 2008

Police and recovery drivers joined friends and family of a well-known Winnersh businessman for his funeral procession.

Edward Barter, who was known as Ted, set up White House Motors in Reading Road 62 years ago and was still going to work until he died on Wednesday, June 25, after losing his battle against cancer.

Police and recovery vehicles joined Mr Barter's funeral procession on Thursday, June 26, as a tribute to the work his business did with the services over the years.
