The wait goes on at town’s post office

Queueing problems at Wokingham’s remaining post office go on, despite continued pledges by the company to resolve the situation.

The first sub post office in Barkham Road closed in May, closely followed by the sub post office in the London Road Co-op.

However, despite promising improvements to the remaining post office in Broad Street, the situation is the same as ever.

When the closures were announced, Post Office Ltd pledged to increase staffing hours at the Broad Street post office and get financial specialists to deal with more complex queries relating to its savings accounts and credit cards.

The improved measures were to be brought in by the time the sub post offices closed.

But, on Monday, a spokeswoman said there was little update on the plan’s progress.
