Mayor nearly takes a tumble – but the show goes on

Wokingham's town mayor made an inauspicious start to his second year yesterday by almost falling off his mayoral chair.
Councillor Brian Willis, who was re-appointed mayor of Wokingham town during a ceremony at the Town Hall, took the near-fall in his stride and even described the grand event as “better than last year”.
Fellow councillor Peter Lucey was appointed the town's deputy mayor duirng the meeting at the Market Place venue.
“Even though I nearly fell off my chair, I still think the meeting went better than last year," cllr Willis said.
“I was very nervous last time and made a few mistakes.
"I am very happy to be mayor for the second year."
