Borough’s streets need a spring clean, says GMB

Wokingham’S streets are not paved with gold, but in the bottom half of a new survey on the south east’s dirtiest streets.

The survey conducted by the workers union GMB, based on information gathered by the Audit Commission, has placed the borough 43rd out of the region’s 67 local authorities.

Using the commission’s criteria for clean streets, the survey revealed 86 per cent of the borough’s streets are deemed clean.

Bracknell Forest fared much better, finishing in 13th place with 94 per cent of its streets meeting the commission’s criteria.

   This is a disgrace. We don't pay a fortune in council tax only to live in one of the dirtiest boroughs in the country.
