Election day in Wokingham

May 01, 2008

Thousands are expected to cast their vote across Wokingham in today's council elections.

The borough's polling stations opened their doors at 7am and most will stay open until 10pm.

At the Shute End Civic Offices' polling station, a queue of two voters had already formed in the early morning sunshine before it opened.

Polls are being held in 18 of Wokingham Borough Council's 5 wards with candidates from all parties hoping to get elected.

The count of the votes will take place tomorrow at 9am and is set to be finished by lunchtime.
