Family win go-ahead for Hayley memorial bench

A memorial bench is to be placed in tribute to a 21-year-old woman who was run over and killed as she walked home from Wokingham town centre.
Hayley Moffitt, of Drake Close, died from serious head injuries after being hit by a car as she walked home from a night out along Finchampstead Road on July 16, 2004, near the former Woodcray Manor golf course.
Her family now wants to install a bench in her memory along the same road.
Miss Moffitt’s mother Judy has asked Wokingham borough and town councils’ permission to install the bench next to the bus stop outside the Two Poplars pub in Finchampstead Road.
