17/ 4/2008

Voters will be heading to the polls next month to have their say on who should represent them on Wokingham Borough Council.

Wokingham Liberal Democrats will be fighting the leading Conservative party to try to gain seats, after significant losses in the last two elections.

Members of UKIP and the Green Party will be standing, as well as a member of the British National Party (BNP), at the elections on Thursday, May 1.

Several key and long-term members of the Conservatives will be standing down at the elections, including council leader Councillor Frank Browne.

The seats up for election this year are Bulmershe and Whitegates, Charvil, Emmbrook, Evendons, Finchampstead North, Finchampstead South, Hawkedon, Hillside, Hurst, Loddon, Maiden Erlegh, Norreys, Remenham Wargrave and Ruscombe, Shinfield South, Twyford, Wescott, Winnersh and Wokingham Without.
