A ‘young buck’ who became an ‘old gent’

Tributes have been paid to a former Wokingham mayor who has died aged 78.
Ian Crail was a Norreys councillor, and the last remaining mayor of the old Wokingham Borough, between 1972 and 1973.
His wife, Ann, told The Wokingham Times that over the years her husband became “a venerable old gentleman”, having done his service for the town.
However, when he first came to Wokingham, she said he might well have been considered a “young buck”.
