Budget means alcohol price hike

Drinkers and landlords in Wokingham have hit out at a hike in tax on alcohol in Chancellor Alistair Darling’s 2007 budget.
Publicans fear the increases of 4p on beer, 14p on wine and 55p on spirits will drive people away from pubs.
