Bin collections will not change – pledge

A senior councillor has reassured residents there are no plans to switch to fortnightly bin collections in Wokingham.
The pledge comes as Wokingham borough’s recycling rates are continuing to climb – with environmentally-minded residents achieving an overall recycling rate of 38 per cent so far this year.
Cllr Simon Weeks, deputy leader of Wokingham Borough Council and executive member for the environment, said this week there are no plans for fortnightly bin collections like neighbouring authorities Bracknell Forest and Reading.
