Footballers tipped to win Cantley stand battle

The final whistle will be blown on the angry debate over a planned 250-seat football stand at Cantley Park next week – and Wokingham and Emmbrook Football Club looks set to emerge triumphant, The Wokingham Times can reveal.
The club’s controversial dream to expand its operation to the park in Twyford Road has been earmarked for approval by Wokingham Borough Council in a report due to be released today (Wednesday).
Campaigners have been battling to stop the development for nearly two years, but if the council’s planning committee agrees with officer recommendations it will be all over for protestors.
