Cricket club homes plan gets go-ahead

Cricketers are celebrating victory after a Government inspector decided the town’s 182-year-old cricket ground can be transformed into 128 homes.


But the decision on Taylor Wimpey’s plans to build on Wokingham Cricket Club’s ground in Wellington Road is a blow to campaigners fighting the plan.


The inspector also ruled in favour of the club’s proposal to move to a new ground in Bearwood Road, Sindlesham, where it will be able to provide more facilities for its players.
