Club told it would need to police Cantley

27/ 6/2007

Footnallers should police Cantley Park to combat the increased risk of car crime and anti-social behaviour if a 250-seat stand is built.
Wokingham and Emmbrook Football Club have been told by Wokingham’s police sergeant they should deploy effective stewards to police the car park and surrounding area if the scheme goes ahead.
The football club hopes to build a stand in Twyford Road to help its senior side continue to excel, while also providing more facilities for young players.
But Sgt Christina Berenger, of Wokingham police, has warned if more cars will be on the site it will mean thieves have more incentive to target the park.
