Postal strike: No to walkout

27/ 6/2007

It will be business as usual at Wokingham’s Post Office on Friday despite predicted widespread strikes.
Workers at the Broad Street Post Office will not be stepping out from behind the counters to take part in the industrial action – the first stoppage in 11 years.
Many smaller sub Post Office branches in the borough will also be opening up for business as usual, because their branches are privately owned.
Cllr Pam Stubbs, who owns Barkham Post Office in Bearwood Road, said she is not taking part in the strike and she will receive updates on whether the industrial action will affect the delivery and collection of letters in the village.
