1,000 race in sell-out half marathon

By Victoria Corbett
May 02, 2007

Hundreds of runners raced across the finish line on Sunday at the Bracknell Half Marathon.

This year’s event was a sell out for the first time to the delight of the half marathon organisers.

The bumper entry of around 1,000 runners meant the crowd of spectators had plenty of athletes to cheer on as they crossed the finish line at South Hill Park in Ringmead.

One runner had a particularly gruelling time with the 13.1-mile race following a sleepless night on shift as a paramedic for the South Central Ambulance Trust.

For full story, pictures and a list of top 10 runners, see this week's Wokingham or Bracknell Times.
