250-home plan would create a ‘horror story’

By Samantha Colyer
February 28, 2007

A 250-home development in Molly Millar’s Lane could turn Wokingham’s roads into a horror story and surrounding areas into a giant car park, neighbours claimed this week.

Around 30 residents, including town and district councillors and representatives from local groups, aired their concerns about traffic chaos and parking problems to developers at a meeting on Monday evening.

Consensus Planning invited residents to the meeting to comment on the proposals by CALA Homes Ltd to build 250 one and two-bedroom apartments, with one parking space per home, on a two-hectare former industrial site in Ashville Way that has been derelict since 2000.
