By Victoria CorbettFebruary 28, 2007
Council Tax payers in Wokingham district will shell out an extra £44 on average next year, it has been decided.
The increase brings the annual tax bill for a Band D property for 2007/08 to an average of £1,307.73.
It includes funding for Wokingham District Council of £1,069.81, as well as £139.19 for Thames Valley Police, £50.09 for the Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service and the precept for the taxpayer’s relevant parish or town council, which ranges from £13.44 in Swallowfield to £104.69 in Woodley.
The figure – an increase of 3.2 per cent – was agreed at a meeting of the district council on Thursday night, when members heard it was the second lowest Council Tax increase in Berkshire.
