Emotions run high at Ryeish Green meetingBy Samantha Colyer
October 25, 2006
Hundreds of pupils, parents, residents and teachers squeezed into Ryeish Green hall to challenge the proposed closure of the school.
The building was bursting with angry people who fired heated and passionate questions and comments to a panel from Wokingham District Council, including leader, Cllr Frank Browne.
After a presentation from council officers, which ran through points from the consultation paper, an impatient and fuming audience pushed for their questions to be answered and comments listened to.
Fervent questions and statements were met with animated applause, as the audience accused the council of not supporting the school or encouraging new pupils to fill its vacant spaces.
