'This is the last chance to save our historic town'By Victoria Corbett

Campaign groups across the town have banded together to fight against the thousands of new homes being planned for the area.
They are bombarding houses with leaflets calling for townspeople to object to Wokingham District Council’s plan to squeeze the homes – required under Government policy – into spaces in and around the town.
Instead the campaigners, who include The Wokingham Society and eight residents’ groups, want to see a new town built away from Wokingham.
About 5,000 copies of the campaign leaflet have been printed.
It reads: “This is your last chance to save the unique historic market town of Wokingham.
“With the current strain on facilities and traffic congestion, Wokingham town is already near breaking point.”
