Mini-town plans on show

By Victoria Corbett
September 20, 2006

Plans  for a primary school, sports pitches, relief road and 600 homes in Winnersh are now open to scrutiny.
The ambitious proposal has been formally submitted to Wokingham District Council and it is now up to members of the public to have their say on the bid.
The planning application, from Bovis Homes and Persimmon Homes, would see the 50-hectare Hatch Farm Dairies (between Chatsworth Avenue, Lower Earley Way and the M4)  transformed into a new housing development with a mixture of accommodation from one-bedroom apartments to five bedroom family homes.
The plan also includes up to 156 affordable homes, which will range in size from one to five bedrooms and has some accommodation for people with special needs.
