By Victoria CorbettSeptember 07, 2006
The long-awaited plan for Wokingham town centre’s Peach Place development has materialised.
Wokingham District Council has formally accepted the proposal for 27 businesses, 137 flats, five houses and a car park from developer Rock Investment Group.
Under the latest plan, potential newcomers to the town include Carluccios (Italian restaurant), Ask (bar/restaurant), Maison Blanc (French delicatessen), Starbucks (coffee shop), TGI Fridays (American-style restaurant), Barracuda (bar/restaurant), Costa Coffee, Nandos (Spanish restaurant), Zizzi (Italian restaurant) or an unnamed local restaurateur.
And clothes shoppers could be browsing through Oasis, Country Casuals, Fat Face, Viyella, and Crew Clothing.
Other potential shops include the Body Shop, Claire’s Accessories, Toni and Guy hairdressers and Steamer Trading cookery shop.
