Want to help fight knife crime? - Give it a wrist

By Victoria Corbett

OUR campaign to rid the streets of knives has been stepped up with the launch of branded wristbands.
Support has flooded in for The Wokingham Times’ bid to stop youngsters carrying knives and push for stricter prison sentences for knife criminals.
To drive home the message to youngsters a fundraising wristband has gone on sale, bearing the campaign logo Knives Costs Live.
The proceeds will go towards producing an educational leaflet for the district’s secondary school pupils.
Wokingham’s MP John Redwood, Sgt Mike Cull from Wokingham police, Wokingham District Council Liberal Democrat leader Cllr Prue Bray and beauty queen Ashton Diffenthal helped launch the purple wristband this week.
They are on sale now at our offices in Denmark Street, priced £1.
