IT'S NOT IF, IT'S WHEN WILL SOMEONE DIE

By Victoria Corbett

SOMEBODY will be killed in Wokingham if the craze for illegal mini moto riding is not stopped, according to a senior police officer.
Adults and youths have been blighting neighbourhoods in Woosehill, Norreys and Finchampstead by racing around on the mini motorised bikes and Sgt Mike Cull is certain there will be a fatal accident if they are not stopped.
Sgt Cull said there are a number of hotspots in the district where people are riding the petrol-powered bikes, which can be purchased for as little as £100, dangerously.
These are the Gorse Ride Estate in Finchampstead, parks such as The Willows in Woosehill, The Coombes park in Barkham and Rainbow Park in Winnersh.
He said children and older people are using the machines, which can travel up to 40mph, without insurance, a drivers’ licence, tax or protective equipment.
