PUPILS OFFERED DISCOUNT ON BULK BUY OF KNIVES

By Victoria Corbett

A COMPANY has offered to sell discount knives to pupils at a Wokingham special school – in the middle of the nation-wide blade amnesty.
Southfield School headteacher Mike Pedley was shocked to get two sample utility-style knives with the school name printed on
them in the post on Monday with an offer that his pupils could get a cheap deal for bulk buying.
The offer comes a week after a Bracknell businessman was stabbed on a night out in Nottingham and two weeks into a knife amnesty designed to
encourage people to hand in dangerous weapons was launched.
