DECISION TIME FOR TOWN'S OLD POLICE STATION

THE fate of one of Wokingham’s landmark buildings will be decided tonight (Wednesday).
The Old Police Station in Milton Road (pictured) is currently empty but a local developer hopes to transform it into flats and houses.
Developer Tim Lewis is looking to build four three-bedroom houses, one five-bedroom house, one one-bedroom apartment and one studio apartment, together with parking and garages on the site.
His plans do not include any major change to the outside of the building.
Although many people, including members of Wokingham History Group, say they are pleased the Old Police Station could be used again, some are disappointed there is no community use in the plans.
