MAY FAYRE TO RUN AS PLANNED DESPITE FOOTBALL PARTY CLASH

FEARS that one of Wokingham’s biggest charity events could be dampened by Reading Football Club’s promotion party have been played down this week.
Organisers of the May Fayre are putting on a brave face after discovering the party to mark Reading’s first Premiership spot in the club’s 135-year history clashes with the event.
The May Fayre, which each year raises thousands of pounds for charity, will have to compete for visitors on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1).
An open-top bus tour of Reading town centre will kick off the football club’s event – followed by a promotion party at the Madejski Stadium.
