March 01, 2013

Plans for a multi-million pound upgrade at The Bulmershe School are due to be submitted in the next two weeks.

Two years of building work are scheduled to start this summer to create a new post-16 learning centre, a remodelled library and information centre, an improved dining area, refurbished classrooms and a student inclusion centre.

New facilities will also be available for community use.

Headteacher Emma Reynolds said: “Thank you to everyone who has given us such positive and valuable feedback. Your input is pivotal to these plans and we will continue to welcome it during the coming months.”

The £6 million scheme is being funded and managed by Wokingham Borough Council.

Councillor Rob Stanton, deputy council leader and chair of The Bulmershe School Project Board, said: “The school drew up a high quality business case, which sets out its combined plan to enhance students’ educational results in conjunction with a significant plan of investment to improve learning conditions.”
