Registration process open for borough's new schoolsBy Lucy Allen

Parents can now apply to send their children to one of three new primary schools due to open in September and have their say on admissions.
Wokingham Borough Council has submitted planning applications for new schools at Smith’s Walk in Woosehill, Winnersh Farm in Winnersh and East Park Farm in Charvil.
Mums and dads interested in places for their children can register online at www.wokingham.gov.uk and will be sent application packs at a later date, once the schools have received approval to open.
The council is currently looking for providers to run the schools in Smiths Walk and Winnersh Farm. Applicants will be interviewed, before the Secretary of State will make the final decision.
The Piggott School has been chosen to run the primary school in Charvil and bosses are working with the Education Funding Agency to finalise a funding agreement.
Parents also have just one day left to comment on the council’s plans to change some of the admissions arrangements for primary schools in September 2014.
The two-month consultation, which ends tomorrow (Thursday), asks people whether they are in favour of proposals to combine catchments for Walter and Wescott Infant Schools in Wokingham, and The Colleton and Polehampton Infant Schools in Twyford, to reduce the risk of split siblings.
Responses will be considered when drawing up final recommendations to the council’s executive, which will decide whether to make the potential changes when it meets on Tuesday, March 26. The final admission arrangements will then be put on the council's website, and published in the autumn, in the admissions guide.
