Star pupils from Ranelagh School have been offered places at two of the country’s top universities.

Four 17-year-old students from the Church of England academy have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge universities from September this year.

Hannah Scott will study music at Oxford, while Abigail Bradshaw has been offered a place on the experimental psychology course and Fern Brereton will study history.

Ben Catterall has been offered a place at Cambridge to study computer science.

Kathy Winrow, headteacher, said: “We are delighted by the achievements of these four students who have worked unbelievably hard throughout their school careers – they really deserve their success.”

More than 90 per cent of the Sixth Form students at Ranelagh School have applied to go to university this year and many have already received offers from top universities.
