London 2012 bronze medal winning rower Alex Partridge visits All Saints School

Schoolchildren were inspired to achieve their dreams by an Olympic medallist.

Rower Alex Partridge, who won bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games, visited pupils at All Saints School, in Norreys Avenue, to give an inspiring and motivating talk during an assembly on Tuesday, January 15.

Jacqui Kearney, deputy headteacher, said: “Alex is related to an ex-governor whose children used to come here so there is a family link to the school.

“Alex visited us before about four years ago. He remembered we had asked him last year while he was training to come to the school and he got back in contact.

“He led an extremely inspirational assembly and it was very interactive for the children.

“There were some very good questions and the last one was from a Year Four pupil who asked what inspired Alex when he started. The children have come away very upbeat and motivated.”

The rower won a bronze medal as part of the men’s eight at Eton Dorney last summer.
