Loddon Primary School is a "good" school, say OfstedBy Paul Cassell

Loddon Primary School has been recognised as a place where ‘pupils make good progress’ and are above average across all subjects by the time they leave.
An Ofsted inspection revealed that gaps between different groups of pupils had closed, which had been down to good teaching and support, leading to improvements in reading and mathematics.
Pupils’ behaviour was also recognised as good with children enjoying school and making friends, as well as making a positive contribution to school life, including resolving problems between each other.
The report said the governing body and recently-appointed headteacher Sarah Phillips had a clear understanding of the school’s priorities and were driving forward with improvements.
Teaching standards had improved at the Silverdale Road school since the last Ofsted inspection, and the report said that there were strong relationships between teachers and pupils with improvement in both progress and attainment.
Loddon has been told it can improve still further by improving teaching to ensure pupils’ progress is consistently outstanding across the school and pupils’ learning needs are checked and met.
Mrs Phillips said: “As the new headteacher of Loddon Primary School I am delighted that Ofsted has judged our school to be a ‘good’ school.
“I believe the report is a fair and accurate reflection of our school, and gives well-deserved recognition to our pupils, teachers, support staff, governors and parents for the collective effort that has been made in ensuring we offer a good education to our children.
“I look forward to working with the community of Loddon Primary School to secure further improvement over the coming years.”
n PUPILS at Loddon Primary School raised nearly £1,000 for charity last term.
Children held a sponsored bounce to make more than £720 for Children in Need.
They donated a further £225 for Help for Heroes, with the money raised by selling decorations they had made, at a Christmas fair.
