Owlsmoor Primary School pupils' 'outstanding' behaviour leads to 'good' Ofsted grade

Pupils at a Sandhurst school have been told their behaviour is ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted report.

Owlsmoor Primary School was visited by a Government inspector, who graded the school in Cambridge Road as Good with some outstanding aspects, including the safety and behaviour of the pupils.

After a two-day visit at the end of November, the watchdog published its report outlining good lesson structure and pupils’ progress.

The report said teachers’ marking was not always helpful and they did not always make sure pupils fully understood what their criticism meant.

The inspector noted that if the school delivered lessons that were fast paced and made all pupils think hard, they could achieve an outstanding grade in the next report.

Headteacher Liz Cole said: “I am absolutely thrilled that all our hard work has been recognised by Ofsted.

“I am pleased the inspectors have acknowledged that we work hard to provide a safe environment for the children where they can learn and thrive.

“I would like to thank my staff, the teachers, governors and parents, who all help to make Owlsmoor a truly good school for all.”
