College principal offers regen help

By Becky Barnes
December 06, 2012

A forward-thinking principal has written to major players in Bracknell’s regeneration, offering a helping hand.

Campbell Christie CBE, principal of Bracknell & Wokingham College, wrote to M&S and Cineworld bosses after both companies signed leases in September to move to the town.

Speaking to councillors at the borough’s full council meeting on Wednesday, November 28, he said: “I told them we are here to help.

“As the local service provider we want to provide the best opportunities and we are well placed to deliver apprenticeships.

“We want to work in partnership with these key players and the local authorities.”

Councillor Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said: “We have a tremendous opportunity with the regeneration and the next generation and potential to use apprenticeships and training towards home building schemes.”
