Highwood School pupils raise £200 through sponsored skip

By Jon Nurse
December 05, 2012

A sponsored skip at a Woodley primary school raised hundreds of pounds for needy children.

Children at Highwood Primary School in Fairwater Drive completed close to 2,000 skips to raise around £200 for Children in Need and the NSPCC.

The fundraising efforts were bolstered by a non-uniform day on Friday, November 16, when pupils brought in their pennies for Pudsey.

The children covered a large picture of Pudsey Bear with the coins.

Family and friends were recruited for sponsorship as each class leapt into a skipping event.

Kim Williams, a representative from the NSPCC, visited the school last month to give an assembly and explained how the charity helps children all over the country.

Anyone else reading this and thinking that the school hired a skip and raised £200 from parents who wanted to dispose of their waste rather than drive to the dump?
