Reading FC players visited a Winnersh school to sign autographs and meet pupils.
The Forest School has a partnership with the club and a number of 14-year-old academy players at the Premier League club now study for their GCSEs at the school in Robin Hood Lane.
To celebrate the partnership, midfielder Jem Karacan and striker Simon Church, who is now on loan at Huddersfield Town FC, visited the secondary school’s open evening last month.
A spokeswoman for the school said: “The players spoke to young fans and signed autographs, remaining totally unfazed even when someone presented their shirts, or in one case a favourite pair of trainers, to be signed.”
Along with exhibitions of work and various clubs and activities around the school, the open evening also featured The Forest podcast team, who were on hand to give young pupils and their parents the experience of interviewing and using recording equipment.
Some even got to hear the team recording an interview with Simon as he sat in the hot seat to be quizzed on a number of subjects by sixth form students Martin Jakeman and Tom Ower.
