Sam Scowen goes back to school

November 15, 2012

Paralympian Sam Scowen returned to her old school and shared her medals and some inspirational advice.

The Wokingham rower was at St Paul’s CE Junior School in Oxford Road on Friday where she led an assembly and spent time with each of the year groups.

The 25-year-old told pupils to never give up as she answered questions on living with a disability.

School wellbeing co-ordinator Alison Robinson said: “Sam said she has some good memories of St Paul’s. A couple of us remember her when she was here.

“The children were very excited to meet a Paralympian.”

The rower, who narrowly missed out on a medal this summer, was presented with a special school sweatshirt.
